WINNING SIPS: McDONALD’S LAUNCH GIANT 2.5M TALL COLD CUP AFTER NEW RESEARCH THAT REVEALS 58% OF BRITS VIEW THEMSELVES AS ‘GLASS HALF FULL PEOPLE’

To put the nation’s optimism to the test, McDonald’s has launched a giant 2.5m gamified cup in Westfield Stratford City today.  The Traitors’ Harry Clark will be challenging shoppers to play ‘The Winning Sip’ for the chance to win one of the mega prizes on offer including merch, thousands of MyMcDonald’s Rewards Points and two massive £1,000 cash prizes.

To win, passers-by will have to try their luck and guess when the giant cup hits the half-full mark.

The activation follows new research from McDonald’s which celebrates the nation’s optimism and uncovers which cities top the UK’s positivity scale.

This new research has revealed that 58% of Brits view themselves as ‘glass half full people’, and the most optimistic cities in the UK are Aberdeen and Cambridge, with 66% of local residents claiming that they see the world from a ‘glass half-full’ perspective.

On the other end of the scale, Norwich topped the list of most pessimistic cities, with 30% of its residents identifying as ‘glass half empty’ people, closely followed by Oxford at 28%.
