Kimpton Fitzroy Review

Last month Onin.London was lucky enough to stay in a gorgeous suite at the Kimpton Fitzroy. This hotel is a 19th-century landmark building, which occupies a full block along the eastern side of Russell Square in Bloomsbury.

When walking into the hotel, you will become speechless at the beautiful entrance hall. It’s no wonder, people choose to get married in here. The photos would be absolutely stunning.

While checking in, I was told that between 5-6 there is a social hour in Burr & Co. Here guests are treated to beer, wine and soft drinks and can relax after a day of exploring all London has to offer.

My friend and I stayed for one drink before venturing upstairs to see where we would be spending the night. Entering our room, we instantly never wanted to leave.

The one bedroom suite where we were staying was one of the most impressive hotel rooms I’ve had the pleasure of staying in. The lounge area contained a large screen tv and there was a second one in the bedroom. Perfect because I was planning to watch England Vs Scotland and my friend couldn’t have been less interested.

In the main bedroom, there was a four poster bed, the already mentioned large screen tv and a sectioned off work station and ‘getting ready area’. My friend was pretty impressed with the sectioned off work station, as this allowed her to catch up on some work the next day without disturbing me whilst I was still sleeping.

Each room of this suite appeared to get better and better, but our favourite was definitely the bathroom. It was bigger than my bedroom, contained a massive shower with a seat and a rain shower plus a gorgeous bath overlooking Russel Square. I was in love. The bathroom amenities were also something special and my friend was disappointed when she couldn’t purchase them. They were from Azzi Glasser who had created a bespoke range specifically for the Kimpton Fitzroy.

We had a great sleep then woke up to breakfast which was delivered to our bedroom. This made our stay feel even more indulgent and we absolutely loved our breakfast. I went for a ham, cheese and tomato omelette while my friend opted for the classic English breakfast.

After such a lovely stay, we really didn’t want to leave. Fortunately Kimpton Fitzroy offers late checkout so we were able to enjoy the day at the hotel before venturing home.

If you too, want an extravagant 5 star staycation, you really do need a book to stay at the Kimpton Fitzroy. Currently there are a range of offers on their site so you can get the best deal. You deserve it after this last year, so what are you waiting for? Get booking now!
