KöD’s Hygge Winter Feast Brings the Magic of Denmark to London
If you’re looking for a festive dining experience that goes far beyond the standard Christmas fare, KöD’s Hygge Winter Feast might just be the most enchanting seasonal celebration in London this year. With its newly launched Scandinavian Christmas menu, you can be sure when Onin London got the invite we were there. Having not been since August 2024, I was looking forward to seeing the acclaimed Copenhagen-born steakhouse turned into a Danish winter wonderland.
From the moment you walk into KöD City or KöD Soho (in our case) the transformation is striking. Soft candlelight flickers against rustic wooden beams; aromatic spices drift through the room; glasses of gløgg warm chilled hands; and Nordic games and festive décor invite you into the world of true hygge. It’s cosy, inviting, and effortlessly authentic… exactly what you want from a Scandinavian-inspired Christmas. And if you like me, I started celebrating Christmas straight after Halloween so this felt like coming home.
The food is the star of the show at KöD and they deliver with confidence. We were there to test the £27 feast and here, the restaurant leans into the flavours of a Danish winter. The steak is cooked to perfection (no surprise as this is one of London’s top-rated steakhouses), while the slow-cooked pork belly with berries and rosemary is a standout, balancing sweetness, savouriness, and festive spice. This was definitely my friend’s favourite part of the meal!
The iconic Burning Love sharing dish elevates comfort food into celebration territory, with creamy mash crowned with smoked bacon and onion compote sautéed in Wagyu fat. It’s unforgettable and let’s be honest… while it may be a controversial Opinion… mash is better than roast potatoes.
Side wise, everything is served with honey-glazed chantenay carrots, rich braised red cabbage with cinnamon and port wine, green beans and KöD’s warming port glaze all round out the meal with classic Nordic character. The peppercorn sauce is delightful as well! Vegetarians and vegans aren’t left behind either, thanks to hearty plant-based ‘meat’ balls baked in tomato sauce.
For groups, the Dansk Julefrokost Feast is where KöD’s heritage really takes centre stage. Served family-style, this multi-course celebration brings traditional Danish Christmas dishes to life, from pickled herring and fried plaice on rye bread to comforting Danish meatballs, liver paté and beautifully crisp pork belly with crackling. The finale — the essential Ris a la mande — is creamy, nostalgic, and exactly how a Scandinavian Christmas should end.
If you want to lean fully into the festivities, the optional Bottomless Drinks package (including beer, wine, soft drinks, Aquavit, and Tuborg Julebryg) adds an extra layer of convivial fun. And don’t skip the Rød Grød med Fløde — a luxurious medley of winter berries, cream, white chocolate sauce, and crumble that captures the warmth of a Nordic holiday in a single spoonful
KöD’s Hygge Winter Feast is one of the most atmospheric, joyful, and flavour-forward festive dining experiences London has to offer this season. It combines the charm of Danish Christmas traditions with elegant dining, exceptional craftsmanship, and a truly cosy winter setting.
Whether you’re looking for a memorable night out, a unique group celebration, or simply a way to experience Jul the Nordic way, KöD has created something genuinely special.
We throughly enjoyed this must-try festive feast, it really is a standout seasonal highlight in London.
