La Gelatiera Review
Summer is almost upon us and since we’ve been lucky enough to have a preview of what’s in store (hopefully) for uswith the warm weather this past week and a bit, meaning gelato season is well and truly here making it that much sweeter.
Mercanteis an Italian restaurant which has teamed up with La Gelatiera bringing a new twist of gelato flavours to you. Your taste buds will be on overdrive with these delicious new pairings. Some include, Basil and chilli, Honey Rosemary and orange, Sicilian pistachio sorbet (which has won an award in 2015 for great tastes) Pane and Nutella (yum) along with many more options making it so much harder on what to decide. I was lucky enough to sample a few and found the Nutella, Campari and blood orange as well Dark Chocolate were the ones I enjoyed the most and would take my time savouring every last bit.
La Gelatiera established itself in Covent Garden in 2011 offering the finest artisan gelato in London.Since opening they have won many major awards including 2 golden forks for London’s Best Food in 2013 and UK Top 50 Foods at Great Taste Awards 2013, 2014 and 2015. So you know you will be in good hands when it comes to this gelato. It is made fresh daily, 100% natural and free from preservatives and additives. Now that is how it should be done!
Mercante offers customers the chance to dine in with the selection of breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and the dessert menu has incorporated the option of gelato into it. If you’re in a rush or if it is too busy don’t just walk away empty handed, purchase one of theunique gelato’s from theirfunky take-awaycart. These flavours are exclusive to the restaurant and are not to be missed. You have all summer to head on down, but don’t leave it too late, before you know it winter will be upon us again and gelato season will be over, NOOOOOO!
Mercante and Lagelatiera is found at Sheraton Grand London Park Lane, right across the road from Green Park, so should you fancy that take-away option, you have a beautiful park to kick back and enjoy it in.
