A modest woman who doesn’t accept praise, instead she smiles avoids eye contact with any admiring fan who throws a compliment her way. A voice that really resonates and leaves a lasting impression. She claims to be the polar opposite of cool in contrast to FKAtwigs who, to quote this lady “FKA twigs lives and breathes cool”. Although you’re going to hate this line, Laura Mvula you’re amazingly talented and super cool.

Having the pleasure of witnessing what is a revolution in music, was something unexpected.

On 5th March 2015 and for one-night only, Laura Mvula will bring an exclusive live show to the capital as she globally streams her acclaimed album ‘Sing To The Moon’ to cinema screens worldwide.

Re-recorded with The Metropole Orkest, Laura will host a unique event at The Genesis Cinema in London’s East End, inviting live cinema audiences across the world to watch her perform a stripped-back set of fan favorites.

The lucky London audience will have the opportunity to watch Laura Mvula in a beautifully intimate setting before she reveals the live performance of the album at The Paradiso in Amsterdam, with 16 time Grammy-nominated, The Metropole Orkest.

Led by conductor Jules Buckley, the sell-out show was filmed by Music- Screen, a production company which specialises in capturing live performance and delivering to global cinema screens via Hi-def picture and 5.1 surround sound presenting a ‘live’ experience.

Laura commented, “Performing with the Metropole Orkest at the Paradiso was incredible and I’m happy to be able to give you the chance to experience it in your local cinema.”

The content of the film is exceptional to say the least. I’ve been to many concerts in my time and the energy felt through a screen had surpassed all expectation on this occasion, it was truly organic. The film captures Laura’s recent performance at The Paradiso in Amsterdam featuring the 16-time Grammy nominated The Metropole Orkest, it was nothing short of astounding, the sound, the visual and the energy all combined to create a revolutionary experience.

During the Q&A after the screening sat a very emotional and charming gentleman in tears, his name Kwame Kwaten, he is Laura’s manager and the genius behind this greatly organised visual and concept. His hard work has truly paid off and the tears of happiness show this.

So to conclude, Laura Mvula and Kwame Kwaten I’d like to say thank you for the experience and March 5th will almost certainly be a great day!

2014 was an astonishing year for Laura seeing her nominated for two BRIT Awards (British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act), short-listed for the Mercury prize and receiving a nomination for the Album Award at the recent Ivor Novello Awards. Laura received an outstanding 5 star review for her breathtaking performance with The Metropole Orkest at the legendary Royal Albert Hall last year. Recorded at London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios, the new recording of Laura’s Top Ten debut album, ‘Sing To The Moon’ was released in August 2014 and contains new arrangements of all twelve tracks on the original version.

As one of the most exciting musical talents to come out of the UK, the London audience is set for a truly unique and exclusive performance.

The London Show will take place at Genesis Cinema, Mile End, E1, with tickets now on sale. For more information and to purchase tickets, go to www.musicscreen.co.uk
