1. HOW DID BACKYARD CINEMA COME ABOUT?

Well it all started as a passion project in my own back garden. I wanted to build a cinema for me and my mates and after a bit of Youtubing and building we were hosting themed cinema parties with loads of food, booze and all our mates. After I tried to start charging them for the pleasure (it was costing me a fortune) and they told me where to go. I thought I should see if I could get strangers to pay so I moved the cinema from my backyard to Londons backyard. 4 years on and we are creating brand new worlds to watch a whole host of films.

2. YOU ARE CURRENTLY IN SOUTH LONDON, WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO POP UP NEXT?

Well have recently popped up in South London – our new home based inside Mercato Metropolitano is houses the fantastic Jungle cinema: LOST WORLD where customers will navigate through a temple entrance into a long lost Jungle to watch all their favourite Action and Adventure movies. Imagine watching the Jungle Book IN a Jungle.

3. IS THERE ANYTHING EXCITING HAPPENING WITH BACKYARD CINEMA THAT YOU CAN SHARE WITH US AND OUR READERS?

Everything we do is exciting! Well to advance on the previous question for you and go into the specifics a little more. We have upgraded our seating and turned every chair into a giant beanbag, we have a very special SFX and audio surprise before each show, not everything will be as it seems on the entrance and our signature drinks are cocktails which you can drink from huge Tiki glasses. Is that exciting enough?

4. WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN?

Beer before wine makes you feel fine, wine before beer makes you feel queer. If you wanted something serious… ‘follow your instincts, you are probably right, don’t seek conformation from other people’

5. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE HANG OUT SPOTS IN LONDON?

I love spending a day in and around London Fields – Climpsons Arch, the park itself. Southbank is still a favourite walk of mine, to remind yourself you live in the middle of the most exciting city on the planet. Lastly my sofa with Netflix.

6. WHAT WOULD YOUR IDEAL SUNDAY IN LONDON BE?

I think I gave it away above…. Netflix and my sofa… after a local roast that leaves you barely able to move.
