MiMi Mei Fair Review
I often find it hard to get out midweek for lunch, but had to make an exception when we were invited to try MiMi Mei Fair’s new Dim Sum Dynasty Brunch. Available from Friday to Sunday from 12-3pm for just £49pp (min 2 people), the new brunch offering serves diners thirteen handcrafted dim sum followed by a main course; all served in one of Mayfair’s beautiful dining rooms.
We arrived on a hot day and whilst they didn’t have strong air con, the team straight away gave us each a fan to keep us cool. We also decided to order a refreshing fruity mocktail each – I had the Not So Berries with lychee, mixed berries and lime. The cocktails sounded really tempting too!
The selection of dim sum was elegantly served in a giant bamboo steamer and it all looked really dainty and delicious. The server talked us through what each of the thirteen dim sum and appetisers were, then we shared them all between us. Included in the 13 dishes were Salt & Pepper Silken Tofu, Tempura Green Beans with Black Truffle, Vegetable Spring Rolls, Chicken Gyoza, Har Gua King Prawn, but I think my favourite had to be the Peking Duck Bao with Hoisin Sauce.
For mains, we decided to share the Black Bean Chicken with onion and pepper and the Caramelised Crispy Mandarin Beef, both of which were served with Egg Fried Rice & Crunchy Seasonal Vegetables. Both were delicious and left us both full at the end!
Whilst I couldn’t manage a whole dessert, we shared the Dynasty Brunch dessert – a Passion Fruit Cheesecake with passion fruit caviar, meringue, cream cheese & ginger crust – between us and it was the perfect ending to a lovely meal.
I’d love to go back to try MiMi mei Fair’s A La Carte menu, and think it’s the perfect destination for a work lunch or a meal in the heart of Mayfair for an occasion.
