Looking For A New Hair Salon? Then Look No Further Than CULt Hairdressing!

CULt Hairdressing, a sophisticated new salon in the historic Fruit and Wool Exchange, welcomed its first guests in December 2024. I was invited along to visit for a hair cut, treatment and blow dry to help me prep for Valentine’s Day and as someone who hasn’t had their hair cut since July I was in need of a dose of TLC!

From the second I walked in to the stylish space, located next to the iconic Spitalfields Market I was instantly put at ease! No harsh lights here, instead there are floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light and even the treatment room has dimmed lights so clients can feel relaxed while getting their hair washed. Plus I’d be amiss to not mention some of the comfiest chairs I’ve had the pleasure of getting my hair washed in! No bad neck pain here! I could have fallen asleep for sure!

I’m getting ahead of myself though. Upon arrival I was greeted with a hot towel, a juice and a chocolate while I waited for my stylist, Francesco Aresco. After a quick consultation where we even spoke about my colour which I will be back to discuss further at another session, I was given a lovely little shoulder massage to get me relaxed and ready for my treatment.

We then went to the back room where I had one of the best hair washes of my life and then the magic really happened. After a quick trim and a gorgeous blowdry, I felt like a new woman! I really felt listened too, especially as I didn’t want too much of my hair length removed. Francesco is a gem and I felt so relaxed my whole appointment. There was definitely plenty of laughter and no awkward chatter at all.

Now onto a little bit of the Salon, at the heart of CULt Hairdressing is Brett MacDonald. Brett has over 25 years of experience working in some of the world’s finest salons and educating on global stages and felt it was time to assemble a team of exceptionally talented, creative, and highly skilled professionals. Hence the creation of Cult Hairdressing!

The salon partners with L’Oréal’s premium hair brands (Kérastase, Shu Uemura Art of Hair, and L’Oréal Professionnel), ensuring clients have access to the best products on the market. I was provided with samples to take home and can’t wait to start trying them. They smell great and after even one treatment at CULt, I could tell the difference.

Maria MacDonald is the co-owner and brand manager of CULt Hairdressing. She brings her extensive expertise in beauty and luxury marketing to the salon. As the founder and director of CORD Comms, she has led marketing initiatives for leading lifestyle and tech brands, working with renowned names like La Mer, Jo Malone London, McQueens Flowers, and Aveda. With a deep understanding of industry trends and consumer behavior, Maria oversees all marketing and communications for CULt, from social media strategy to press relations, ensuring the salon stands out in London’s competitive beauty scene.

The love they, and their staff have for CULt Hairdressing was evident the second I walked in to the Salon and I will be back.
