Tea 2 is on the Rise

Being British, Tea runs through our veins. And personally I love tea in all forms – black, green, white, or pink! So what’s this? There’s a new teashop on the high street? And they’re Australian? I’m not sure what the Australians know about tea, but any excuse for a cuppa and I’m there!

We attended the opening of T2’s new store on Tottenham Court Road, and were greeted by an array of teas. And I mean, a lot of teas, more tea than its possible to take in. Tea lines the wall in this place, and it’s clear it also runs through the veins of this Aussie born brand.

They really know their stuff. We were given an amazing matcha Green Tea education, learning how to make both hot and cold matcha tea. The matcha latte (with soya milk) was a personal highlight and the range of brewing tools available to help mix this delight was impressive, from a bamboo scoop through to a whisk and ceramic mixing bowl, which conveniently are available in a lovely set (I’m hinting for Christmas presents here!).

As it’s the Wintery season, the lovely T2 people gave us some cold battling teas to take away and try. They recommended ginger, which is known to strengthen the immune system and help relieve chest and nasal congestion associated with a cold. Ginger can have a real kick to it so they also offered the Ruby Red Rosehip tea (rosehips, hibiscus, rose buds, rose petals) when the two are combined, you get a nice fresh infused tea with a slight ginger taste, not overpowering at all and definitely a winner in our books.

We have been to a few of the T2 branches in London and they all look beautiful, they have tasting stations so you can try the teas and the staff are all knowledgeable and incredibly enthusiastic about sharing their tea knowledge to customers, it honestly is a delight and we learn something new every time we enter a store. Tea is always on the agenda, which means we’re all over it!
