Lucky Seven Diner
Lucky Seven Diner is an American themed diner that serves burgers, breakfasts, milkshakes and other delightful, calorific treats.
They are a two minute walk from Westbourne Park tube, and it couldn’t be easier to get to. That didn’t stop my daft friend from getting hopelessly lost. I had a chat with the staff and settled into my seat with a Brooklyn Lager. When it Rome. Well…when in London, do as the…Americans do?
And why not? This tiny diner is perfectly stylised to make you feel like you’re in the heart of Brooklyn, New York. Everything from their seats, to the menu board and the eclectic posters combine to create the diner feel. Their fridge stocks a huge range of high-quality American beers, which I’ve always loved due to their strong taste.
Their Kalifornian burger was recommended to me and I soon saw why. This burger included bacon, cheese, guacamole, sour cream and roasted tomato. This was sizable and the guacamole and sour cream really enhanced the taste. It was absolutely delicious, but you may get through a few napkins when eating it. My less than punctual buddy went for the green chilli cheese burger, which tasted equally delicious, he informed me.
Before we knew it we’d guzzled down these burgers, a side order of fries and a couple of American beers. This place is perfect for a non-healthy meal and the ambience of the venue creates an authentic representation of American Diners. Their walls are adorned with different stylised posters, one was of President Obama, and another said “God Save Jack the Ripper”. I’d suggest that even God might struggle to save Jack the Ripper, as he was a very naughty boy.
The place has great burgers, great beers and a range of unhealthy but very tasty treats. For instance they offer a “healthy breakfast”, which includes eggs, sausage, bacon, beans and hash browns. This tongue-in-cheek description is a nice touch and it is refreshing that they’re not trying to cater for everyone by providing genuine healthy options.
Lucky Seven Diner isn’t trying to be something it is not, it’s a great place to get a tasty burger and some nice drinks whilst soaking up the American vibe. I’d definitely recommend it for a gluttonous treat.
