Mindful Drinking Festival 2019

Alcohol free options are becoming ever popular. People want to be social and still have the ability to drive or wake up without a hangover. Luckily, Club Soda arehighlighting this in their Mindful Drinking Festivals. These festivals occur twice a year in the summer and winter months and OninLondon attended the Mindful Drinking Festival in Summer and it is now back in to give us that much needed push in dry January.

It’s fifth festival is coming to Truman Brewery in Brick Lane on the weekend of 12th-13th January and builds on the success of the summer festival in Spitalfields market. This time around over 60 drink produced will give Londoners the opportunity to taste the best low to no alcohol concoctions ranging from craft beers and ciders to even gin and tonic. Best of all it is all free.

There are classes also which are a great way to find out more about the local producers and taste some of the great drinks in the range. We attended a beer tasting one last time and it was fascinating. Very educational and informative.

Over the 2 days the classes include:

Leading local mixologists and drinks producers showcasing the best alcohol-free drinks
Tastings with top beer sommelier Jane Peyton and wine sommelier John Downes
Workshops and talks on mindful drinking, fitness and wellbeing. The host for our motivational stage this year is BBC Radio 2 presenter JaneyLee Grace and speakers already confirmed include television and radio presenter Adrian Chiles, personal fitness trainer Alice Rickard and editor and author of Mindful Drinking: How Cutting Down Can Change Your Life, RosamundDean
Happy Hour Yoga with Movement for Modern Life
Plus, a whole morning dedicated to blogging, including a session led by The Sober Diaries author Clare Pooley

These festivals are a great way to change your mind set on alcohol and the previous one had a profound effect on me changing the way I approach alcohol and putting systems in place to control it. Statistics say the trends are changing and more and more young people are alcohol-free in the UK – up to 20.9% of the UK adult population.

Get down to Truman Brewery and enjoy some beautifully crafted low to non-alcoholic drinks. You’ll be pleasantly surprised. No more bland waters or sugary soft drinks on a sober night out. Have all the fun without the headache.
