Ministry Of Waxing Laser Review
Us girls… well the things we do to ourselves in the name of beauty and hair removal. We pluck, shave, wax and now we have laser. Ministry Of Waxing has all your hair removal needs covered. They’re a favourite of ours as we’ve visited before on a few occasions plus Ministry Of Waxing which began in Singapore has pruned and waxed over THREE AND A HALF million bushes worldwide. So it’s safe to say you’re in good hands.
I visited the Covent Garden Ministry Of Waxing for my appointment and couldn’t be more happy with the service I received. The staff were friendly and informative about the procedure I would be getting done.
Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses a laser (an intense, pulsating beam of light) to remove unwanted hair. First the body part that the laser treatment is being completed on is sectioned off so the clinician doesn’t miss any sections of air. Then during laser hair removal, a laser beam passes through the skin to an individual hair follicle. The intense heat of the laser damages the hair follicle, which inhibits future hair growth.
First you’re invited to attend a free appointment for a patch test to make sure you’re skin doesn’t react to the laser. You’ll have to fill in some forms during this appointment time. Don’t worry if you’re feeling a little apprehensive about it like I was, Bec at Ministry Of Waxing will have you feeling relaxed and not scared at all. She certainly made me feel comfortable and not worried about being in all my naked glory.
The patch test doesn’t hurt too much and it’s almost a similar pain threshold as getting a tattoo. I was a bit nervous the morning I arrived a couple of weeks later for my full session. I was getting a full Brazilian and I was slightly hungover during the session. I don’t recommend this at all!
The laser session only lasted 10-15minutes. Bec assured me if I returned for the recommended six followup sessions, it takes only about five minutes. It didn’t hurt as much as I expected it too and at one point I completely didn’t realise that Bec was working.
Few tips:
– Don’t go get Laser when you’re hungover… It’s not really a good idea.
– Bring your head phones and your iphone. Turn your music up loud and you’ll be so distracted it.
– Shave the area you are getting laser on the night before.
– Don’t stress if you miss any spots when you shave, your clinician will tidy up any areas you miss.
Laser has plenty of benefits. Hair grows back at 20% less each time and is finer. So with even just one session, you’re gaining something. Obviously with the recommended sessions, you’ll see less hair and then not have to worry about shaving or waxing in the future.
It’s an expensive procedure with a full Brazilian costing £296.00 per session. Thankfully Ministry Of Waxing recommend buying the sessions in a package deal and this allows them to give you a discount. Payment plans are also available, so you don’t have to worry about forking out a large amount of money at once. Also it’s not really that bad if you add up all the time and money spent shaving and waxing.
Before I left I did purchase the Ice Cream for £29 which Instantly calms and soothes irritated skin and redness, Delicate skin after waxing, IPL & laser treatments and Sun-exposed skin, minor burns and insect bites and the Malin + Goetz Ingrown Hair Cream. They’re the recommended products for after treatment care and let me tell you, they really helped.
Thank you to the Bec and the staff at Ministry Of Waxing, I’m sure I’ll be back soon for future treatments.
