Mr Fogg’s Gin Parlour’s Gin Safari experience Review
A history lesson in the art of gin and its origins dressed in colonial garb in the heart of Covent Garden? Tickety-boo chap!
Set in the ‘former residence’ of Phileas J. Fogg, Mr Fogg’s Gin Safari does exactly what it says on the tin. Ushered into the Gin Parlour by a gentleman donning a bowler cap, we were taken to the parlour established by Fogg himself as a place for his friends to convene and partake in London’s beloved tipple. It was there that we were provided with our own hat of yesteryear, the safari hat, and acquainted with Richard, the parlour’s resident gin expert.
Richard’s expertise on the highs and lows of gin’s history was truly impressive, and coupled with the tasters, gave us a newfound respect for the glorious, glorious gin. We were then encouraged to explore the 150 + gins available in the Victorian era parlour and concoct our own G&T. Also available, should you so wish, is a tasting plate to compliment your new-found gin knowledge.
An absolute must for any gin lover or enthusiastic history buff, or even any medical practitioners out there as it transpires…seeing as gin was medicinal in its origins. Just what the doctor ordered!
Be sure to inquire about Richard’s availability for the event as his knowledge and passion make the experience!
