Nouaison Gin Launch Review

On the 21st November in London, Paris and Singapore – G’Vine conducted the global launch of its newest gin, Nouaison gin. The launch took place at three high class bars around the world, the Nobu Shoreditch in London, the Tiger Bar in Paris, and the Atlas Barin in Singapore. As fans of G’vine Floraison, we couldn’t wait to try their newest creation, Nouaison gin.

Those that read our previous article about G’vine will know that this special spirit was created by Master Distiller and creator of G’Vine gin de France, Jean-Sébastien Robicquet. He also created the famous Ciroc Vodka before creating G’Vine Gin in 2006. Listening to him describe the process for the creation of G’vine and what we would experience whilst drinking the gin was pretty awe-inspiring. Nouaison, means ‘setting’, specifically in relation to fruit. It has been labeled the older sibling of G’vine Floraisom and we can see why. Continuing with using grape and the rare vine flower in their recipe, Nouaison is rich and intense, with 45% ABV. It provides drinkers with a spicy aroma mixed with sensual sandalwood, bergamot, prune, java pepper and vetiveria botanicals.

Nouaison gin has a pleasant aroma, it is less floral than its predecessor but still maintains that je ne sais quoi that G’vine Floraison has. It is more suited for classic cocktails such as the Negroni à la française and new creations like the Divinus created by David Rios (2013 world best bartender). These were quite strong at first but were so good we had to enjoy them. We may have had a one too many, so we will feature a full review of Nouaison gin in the future with some recipes in the future.

Nobu Shoreditch bartender, Luca Di Patrivi, Tiger bartender, Paul Brussel, and Atlas Bartender, Roman Foltan also created exclusive Nouaison gin cocktails to be served in their bars. Make sure you ask for one of these next time you’re at Nobu Shoredith, Luca Di Patrivi’s creation was divine. It was a lot fruitier than the Negronis and Divinus which we’d be drinking all night and it ran out pretty fast. So safe to say, it was a crowd favourite. They sold 256 the first night it was made.

A great time was had drinking cocktails, taking selfies, learning about G’Vine and mingling with other influencers. We left the party very merry and with a lovely goodie-bag with our own bottle of Nouaison gin. I can’t wait to try it as a good old fashion G&T.
