Obicà’s Advent Calendar – A Festive Treat You Won’t Want to Miss!
On Saturday 7th December, we braved the elements and headed down to Obicà in Canary Wharf. We were greeted warmly by staff and seated promptly. It’s been a while since I’ve been to an Obicà restaurant but they never fail to impress with their fresh, high-quality ingredients and vibrant dishes.
We were feeling comfort food on the day so had to choose the pizzas, but to start we ordered the Burrata and Pears Salad. It’s an absolute delight. The creaminess of the burrata perfectly complemented the sweetness of the pears, while the crunch of the walnuts and the bitterness of the red chicory and lamb’s lettuce balanced the dish beautifully.
Next, the Prosciutto di Parma DOP Pizza is a must-try for pizza lovers. The mozzarella fiordilatte is irresistibly creamy, and paired with the Prosciutto di Parma, it creates a rich and savory experience. The fresh rocket adds a peppery bite that rounds out the flavors on this indulgent pizza. It’s a favourite of mine for a reason and didn’t disappoint.
Finally, the ’Nduja Pizza is a spicy, flavorful masterpiece. The combination of the spicy ’nduja sausage with the smooth, creamy stracciatella is heavenly, while the organic tomato sauce and Gran Panadon Dop tie everything together perfectly. For anyone who enjoys a bit of heat and bold flavors, as we do this pizza is an absolute winner. We couldn’t resist adding some extra Chilli Oil which really made the pizza pop even more!
By the end of our meal we were full and content so finished of a delightful PINOT GRIGIO ROSATO by Sospiro, an Italian wine that was crisp and clean.
