Review: The Jam Tree Clapham

Since moving to London, I’ve heard wonderful things about Clapham. Despite, this I haven’t had the opportunity to explore the area until last Thursday. My friend Kirsty and I were fortunate enough on this day to get to attend The Jam Tree Clapham and taste test their new cocktail menu. From the moment we entered in to the bar, we found all staff incredibly friendly. A huge plus for me was that the bartenders and waiters were happy to joke with guests and kind enough to recommend their favourite drinks on the cocktail menu.

The first cocktails that tickled our fancy was the Berry Bourbon Blast (Fresh blueberries, blackcurrant jam, mint and Jim Beam Bourbon – a berry nice mixed served long) and the Blood Orange and Thyme Paloma (Reposado Tequila, fresh thyme, blood orange and lime, topped with ting grapefruit soda). Both winning cocktails and were finished in record time.

Next we tried the Jam Mojito (Bacardi Cara Oro rum stirred with fresh mint, lime and raspberry jam) and the Jam Fest (Eristoff Vodka mixed with raspberry jam, raspberry liqueur, almond syrup and a touch of lemon juice). Both were absolutely delicious and I love how the bar uses jam in the majority of their cocktails. Definitely gives the classic mojito an updated and unique twist.

To end the night, Kirsty and I tried The Jam Tree Clapham’s newest creation the Netflix and chill (Blockbuster combination of Vanilla Vodka, Butterscotch Liquor, caramel and lemon served in a popcorn cup). Sweet and tangy, this was amazing concoction. It even had the added bonus of being served in a super cute and fun way.

My evening spent in The Jam Tree Clapham was fabulous. Kirsty and I thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and easy going vibe of the place. I’m already planning my next trip to this bar and have been recommending it to all I speak to. With friendly staff, fabulous cocktails and a food menu that looked amazing, you can’t go wrong. Plus for 15 quid, you can get bottomless brunches on weekends!
