REVIEW: Wagamama

wagamamaOne of the great things we all love about Wagamama a part from their relaxed seating style, is they like to mix things up a bit and every so often they add new dishes.

I’m all about the new so trying out one of their new dishes was a must, of course for the starter I went for my favourite which is the chicken steamed gyoza, honestly you just can’t go wrong with their chicken gyoza, it brings butterflies to my stomach every time, soft and tender steamed chicken in a dumpling.

For the main I went for the new dish ‘Tamari chicken’ Wok-fried chicken, aduki beans, sweet potato, mange tout, red onion, broccoli and carrots, cooked in garlic, ginger and tamarin sauce. Served with rice and topped with zasai chilli paste. I found the chicken to be tender and very flavoursome with the seasoning, the meal was fresh and bursting with flavour all around which was great.

My guest had the Warm Chilli Chicken Salad. stir-fried chicken with red peppers, mangetout, broccoli and red onion on a bed of baby gem lettuce. dressed in a sweet chilli sauce. garnished with chillies, spring onions and cashew nuts. She found the salad to be fresh and healthy and packed full of flavour. Although it was lovely, there are only three salad options on the menu, so it would be nice to see more options on the menu.

We drank copious amounts of green tea throughout the meal as Wagamama are pretty generous in offering diners, free green tea refills (a little tip for you there).

Wagamama is one of those restaurants you can’t go wrong with, the service is always quick, the food is fresh and there’s always a smile from the waiter. Wagamama we will be back!
