Savage Garden Is Letting You Après Ski This Winter!

Savage Garden is not just hitting the slopes, it’s bashing them just in time for Christmas, with the launch of a traditional Austrian après ski bar gone wild. Bench and table dancing (yes in ski boots) under disco lights will provide the perfect ski party vibes to kick off the new snow season.

Launching on Saturday 2 November, Savage Schloss will bring all the crazy fun of a ski lodge in the Austrian Alps to central London. Ride up in the gondola lift from the lobby and step into the après playground complete with fresh snow every day.

Winter games like Virtual Reality skiing and air hockey will keep White Out Schlossers entertained day and night. Savage Schloss is the perfect opportunity to dust off that jazzy spandex jumpsuit (or lederhosen, no judgement here!) you’ve been saving for your next trip to St Anton, and prepare for some cheesy Europop and all the glühwein you can handle. Take a cue from the Savage Garden Ski Waiters as they parade their best ski hats and outfits and enjoy being ‘piste again’ as London unveils the best bar for a bit of Après.

During the daytime, guests can enjoy a traditional cosy Skihütte atmosphere complete with gingham curtains, boozy hot chocolate and Austrian-inspired comfort food including indulgent cheesy Raclette. By night the bar will transform into a bench stomping, Schnapps drinking playground with Steins of beer, champagne by Bollinger and Ayala, and all those
much-loved oompah band anthems that will have everyone singing ‘So ein schöner Tag’ at the top of their lungs, and other wintry antics.

In addition Savage Schloss will be offering free German lessons to guests to give them some handy phrases that will trip off the tongue next ski holiday or to try out on the night. Useful phrases like, “I really admire your lederhosen,” (‘Ich bewundere Ihre Lederhose’) “I love your extravagant facial hair,” (‘Ich liebe ihren exravaganten Bart’), “Is that a ski pole you
are holding? (‘Ist das ein skistock den Sie festhalten?’) and “I think I am next in the queue.” (no translation possible) will be dotted around to help with Austrian/UK relations.

The pop-up will run throughout the winter until March 2020, and is open to guests on weekends, and is available for exclusive hire. Time to get those ski boots on!
