Shoot Your Heart Out At Clays!

Last month, Onin.London visited Clays, London’s premier indoor virtual shooting experience bar, at their new site in Canary Wharf.

Following on from the success of the brand’s Moorgate venue, it’s not surprising they have opened a second venue.

But first what is Clays? Well the concept is designed to emulate the classic British sport of clay target shooting in game form, players can book this unique take for a thrilling 90-minute experience for groups of up to 20 people. Players can choose from collection of five interactive games
to play within their dedicated, semi-private ‘peg’ (Gaming room).

To play, each player will take aim and shoot their shot with the hope of coming out on top. Using Clays’ proprietary technology, you are ensured maximum precision down to the sub-millimetre. It really is an immersive experience.

I went with in with a group of four and actually really enjoyed myself. I even won a few rounds of the game. For those that know me, I’m pretty bad at things like this so this was great! My friends also had a great time. One thing we will say though, is we all wished the gun was just that little bit lighter. It’s quite heavy, which I guess makes the game more realistic but for someone with a shoulder injury I did struggle just a little bit.

Clays is huge! It has 8 ‘pegs’ (gaming sections), a
spectacular bar area, private room, expansive heated outdoor drinking and dining
space, a treehouse-style DJ booth and plenty of space for drinking, dancing and playing.

Now on to the food. We had the mixed sharing platter and it was great! The truffle fries were a dream, as was the corn ribs and the deep fried calamari!

Drink wise, the cocktails are pretty fabulous. With both non-alcoholic and alcoholic versions available, Jon Calabrese and the talented team of bartenders at Clays, have outdone themselves.

Overall we had a great time at Clays, the venue is lovely, the food and drinks delicious and the games fun. What more could you ask for on an evening out?
