Spend A Day With Onin.London At SPITALFIELDS E1

We’ve all heard of Spitalfields close to Liverpool Street Station but Onin.London recently visited Spitalfields E1 on a press trip to spend a fabulously festive day there. Spitalfields E1 is one of London’s most historical markets set in the heart of the East End, is renowned for its strong sense of diversity and spirit.

Spitalfields Market Crispin Place

Spitalfields is home for over 90 independent traders at Spitalfields Traders Market, offering contemporary and vintage fashion, music, jewellery and accessories (open every day), as well as the Arts Market in Crispin Place, supporting both up-and-coming and established local artists (open Friday – Sunday). Lamb Street And Market Street feature a range of food and retail shops that will have you smiling from ear to ear!

Spitalfields is really the place for all Londoners and tourists – so here’s our top places to visit!   After a short walk from Liverpool Street Station, start your day at Spitalfields with some retail therapy. Visit Market Street & Brushfield Street to explore independent shops and brands such as Astrid & Miyu | 6 Market Street,  Coachtopia | 41 Brushfield Street, Malin + Goetz | 45 Brushfield Street, On | 37 Brushfield Street and RAINS | 39 Brushfield Street

Or why not head over to the traders market, where 90 small businesses trade every day of the year

Some of our favourite brands were Bacanara Fashion, Leather Republic, Elements by Nature, Poli & Jo, 33Bis Artisanal Edition and Ladiebirdy.
Make sure you have yourself a coffee from Arabica Coffee while you’re wandering around. Retail therapy is thirsty work after all!

After you’ve shopped to your hearts content, it’s definitely time for some pamper time! Head to Townhouse to get your nails done at  12 Market Street. Townhouse seriously have the best nail artists and it will be an hour and a half you’ll feel extremely relaxed.

After that… get your brows waxed and tinted at Benefit Cosmetics | 49 Brushfield Street and get that perfect blow dry at Amazon Salon | 47 Brushfield Street.

With everything in such close proximity- it’s the perfect time to get your brows on fleek and your hair looking amazing for that Christmas party. I felt like a princess and can’t thank the stylists at both Benefit and Amazon Salon enough.

Food wise… there’s plenty of options but our top pics were Grime Burger and iThai on Lamb Street. Both these options were extremely popular and we enjoyed people watching while we at.  The l00% British Wagyu meat burger from Grime Burger was perfection – we couldn’t fault it and we loved the Thai street food classics from i-Thai. Full of flavour and freshly made, it was the comfort food my friend and I both needed.

After all that food, it was time to work off some of that food… so we headed over to Players Social | 1 Crispin Place for a game of shuffleboard. Sipping on the delicious cocktails it was a fun way to spend the rest of the afternoon and our competitive spirit really came out.

We’d recommend the Its a racket (Olmeca tequila blanco, lime, agave, pineapple juice) and the Raspberry Garden (Whitley Neil Raspberry gin, elderflower, lemon juice, raspberry). Both cocktails were fabulous!

We then visited Kill the Cat | @killthecatbeer | 14 Market Street for a guided craft beer tasting. Kill the Cat is the perfect place for craft beer lovers with beers on tap and a great selection of beers to takeaway. Food wise, they have a great range of festive favourites including the Spiced Sticky Toffee Pudding which my friend loved.

End your day seeing the cutest Christmas play, “The Lost Library of Spitalfields Market” | 8 Market Street. The play is performed by The Greenhouse Theatre, the UK’s first zero-waste theatre. The play is suitable for all ages and is 70 mins without intermission. Written and directed by Oli Savage, The Lost Library of Spitalfields Market tells the story of a girl, Isla (Ronay Poole), who is in search of a Christmas present for her mother. She stumbles upon a hidden library located in Spitalfields Market where stories aren’t found in books but in everyday objects that have been discarded and forgotten. I loved it! There were tears and laughter throughout. It is certainly one not to miss. Make sure you get your tickets and see the show before it ends on 24th December. Visit thegreenhousetheatre.com and spitalfields.co.uk for more information and to purchase tickets.

We throughly enjoyed our day in Spitalfields and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better day. Make sure you visit to check out the pretty festive lights and get your Christmas shopping done, all in one place.
