Spice up your Burns Night supper with DEWAR’S Caribbean Whisky flavour fusion Burns Night (25th Jan) in celebration of Scotland’s most famous poet, Robert Burns, gets a flavour makeover this year, with a limited-edition meal kit from DEWAR’S Whisky and All in a Box. The meal kit includes two complimentary cocktails, created by Lead Creative at Mr Lyan Studio, and DEWAR’S creative consultant, Mark Low. ‘Should auld acquaintance be forgot’? Not likely! With scotch bonnets alongside your sonnets, this fiery twist on the Scottish traditional Burns Night supper will be sure to spice up your celebrations and be one night to remember.
The delectable two course carefully curated menu, is bursting with spice and flavour fusions, inspired by the fusion of cultures in each drop of DEWAR’S Caribbean Smooth. Aged in rum casks, the blended whisky is characterised by brown sugar, creamy caramel and tropical flavours that compliment and lends itself well to the spicy flavours.
A kick start to the proceedings is a tantalising ‘address to the haggis’ in the form of haggis scotch egg, paired with a deliciously tangy sweet chilli sauce, infused with the nations ‘other’ favourite drink Irn-Bru.
Wash this down with an accompanying ‘New Town’ cocktail, a Scottish inspired take on a Manhattan cocktail, combining DEWAR’S Caribbean smooth with syrup spiced with mace, nutmeg, black pepper, fresh ginger, orange peel & bay leaf and sweet vermouth. Tingling and tantalising flavours to whet your appetite before you settle down to the second stanza, an extravaganza featuring sizzling jerk chicken served with neeps, tatties, plantain mash and Haggis Hash Brown. Served with a Scotch Bonnet, mango and lime salsa.
Recite your favourite Burns snippets while sipping on a deliciously creamy liquid dessert, a fruity Cranachan inspired Highball cocktail, featuring a combination of DEWAR’s Caribbean Smooth with oats, coconut, honey, strawberries, and allspice, topped with soda water, dried strawberry and coconut flakes. The night isn’t over until everyone is singing along to a specially curated Spotify playlist that will have you belting out ballads and waxing poetically. Raise a dram and toast bottoms up to Burns!
