Tea, Cakes and Cocktails At Revery For World Vegan Day Review

The ‘Tea, Cakes and Cocktails’ experience at the Revery Bar Park Lane puts a contemporary spin on a long-standing classic. The tradition of afternoon tea is well loved by many, and the Revery Bar is aiming to shake this up with tea-infused cocktails and mocktails alongside more traditional teas and stylish sweet and savoury delicacies juxtaposed with classic scones. On November 1st, in honour of World Vegan Day, we were treated to a vegan version of the menu.

First, we tasted five different cocktails and two mocktails before choosing one of each. These ranged from the light and fruity Cairo Gossip to the smoky, strong, tequila-based Mexican Breakfast. The Blooming Blossom mocktail was my personal favourite – it has a beachy, refreshing feel without being too sweet.

The canapés and savoury items certainly didn’t disappoint! All of the items were exciting and creatively presented, showing that vegan doesn’t mean boring. In fact, everything was packed with flavour! I particularly enjoyed the tofu roll, the asparagus panna cotta and the mushroom pâté. These items truly showcased some of the richest autumnal flavours as we enter the cold winter months.

As for the sweet treats, the triple chocolate sandwich was chocolatey and rich without being overpoweringly sweet. The scones were some of the freshest we had ever tasted – the mark of high quality vegan treats is not being able to tell they are vegan! We were even treated to some vegan pick n mix items to take with us. Sadly, we didn’t try the teas but this was simply due to being very full from the food and drinks we had already indulged in.

I strongly recommend you visit the Revery Bar whether you stick to the regular menu or prefer a plant-based diet. The staff are incredibly welcoming and eager to treat you to a good time and the bustling Park Lane Hotel provides an opulent backdrop for this luxurious experience.
