Carnaby Street Unveils Charity Partner for Festive Season Ahead of Christmas Light Switch On

Today, Carnaby Street announces Global’s Make Some Noise, the official charity of Global, the Media & Entertainment group as its official Christmas charity partner for the festive season. The season-long partnership promises to spread both festive cheer and meaningful impact, as the heart of Soho is transformed into a dazzling festive wonderland and proceeds help to support vital projects, changing lives across the UK.

The festivities kick-off with the highly-anticipated switch-on of Carnaby Street’s all-new and immersive Into the Light Christmas lights installation on Thursday 7 November, from 4pm to 8pm. This year’s unveiling event, set to transform the heart of London with an unforgettable festive light display, will join forces with Capital XTRA’s Breakfast hosts, Robert Bruce and Shayna Marie, who will emcee the countdown moment and add their signature energy as they help Londoners and visitors ring in the holiday season. Capital XTRA is one of Global’s radio stations. 

Global’s Make Some Noise funds vital projects delivered by grassroots charities nationwide, tackling issues such as mental health, food poverty, domestic abuse, homelessness and loneliness. As the official charity of Global, and all of its radio stations, including Capital XTRA, Global’s Make Some Noise raises awareness of these important social causes, and helps to amplify the impact of the local charities it works with across the UK.

On launch night, Carnaby Street and its surrounding areas will come alive with special experiences and one-night-only offers. Guests can enjoy exclusive discounts, on-the-street drinks from pop-up bars and brilliant light shows every 30 minutes. Christmas choirs will fill the air with festive melodies, adding a heartwarming soundtrack to the evening.

Brands participating with exclusive offers across Carnaby Street and Soho include House of Astrid & Miyu, PANGAIA, Ray-Ban, Oakley, Barbour, MAC, Moscot, Paul Smith, Ray-Ban, Oakley, Size? and Rixo, making it the perfect opportunity to kick start Christmas shopping with exciting perks. Attendees can also expect festive in-store events, with brands like Aesop and Sculpted By Aimee providing complimentary treatments, in-store drinks, and special treats.  G-SHOCK Radio will also be broadcasting live from the G-SHOCK store. 

Beyond shopping, visitors can indulge in festive food and drink specials at Soho’s diverse restaurants, adding a culinary dimension to the celebrations. Highlights include a complimentary chai at Dishoom, 20% off select dishes at Miznon, and a mulled wine slushie on the house with any pasta order at Pastaio when you mention “Christmas at Carnaby.” At The Ganton Arms, guests can enjoy a seasonal pie paired with 2-for-1 cocktails from 4–7 pm, Cahoots will be serving a mulled wine special, while Shoryu tempts visitors with 20% off selected ramen dishes. 

All of this will take place under the new festive light installation, Into the Light, which will transform Carnaby Street with six-metre-high light sculptures and thousands of eco-friendly LEDs, creating a golden, star-lit glow that immerses visitors in the magic of the season. Star-shaped archways at each entrance invite guests to step into a festive wonderland of shimmering lights and holiday cheer.

The 7th of November marks only the beginning on what is on offer over the festive period in Soho.  Soho and Carnaby Street promise festive celebration unlike any other this Christmas season, blending holiday magic with the spirit of giving.
