Tequila and Mezcal Fest Review

I’m not going to lie, the fact that I can remember this years Tequila & Mezcal Fest 2018 is probably a testement to the fact that this is my third Tequila, Mezcal and Agave spirit festival in three years. It’s all about the practice! This year, for it’s 5th year running, it opened in the brand new venue on the Southbank, The Bargehouse at OXO Tower Wharf. It was a multi-story, action-packed 3 day celebration of the true spirit of Mexico.

Each room was full of not only Mezcal and Tequila, but a selection of art installations from contemporary Mexican artists. It was actually pretty cool being able to walk up and down seeing a variety of different vendors on each of the floors, rather than being in one standalone room. This did make the experience a little bit more fun, as I found stalls didn’t overcrowd as they sometimes can at other events. The variety of tequila and mezcal was impressive as always and the vibe was fun. People looked like they were having a great time as they learnt about Mexico’s number one spirits.

Tickets were priced at priced at £20 per session, or £40 for a VIP pack (fast track entry, x2 cocktails, 2 dishes, Tequila and Mezcal samples and free entry to seminars and masterclasses). Pretty decent prices for a belly full of tequila and a great night out. Of course the next morning we were a little worse for wear but we’ll be making our way back there for sure! Especially if Black Fire Coffee Tequila and Casamigos will be back there!
