The Gentlemen Baristas delivers Afternoon Tea (and coffee) to your door

Who doesn’t like partaking in the quintessential British tradition of Afternoon tea? As some venues are still closed to this sit down experience, The Gentlemen Baristas, London’s neighborhood Coffee house and Roasters is one of those establishments delivering some much needed refinery and daintiness back into our lives. They are providing much needed respite from the comfort eating and takeaways on the sofa that some of us have succumbed too, and after months of hunting for the elusive bag of SR flour and disappointing lockdown baking, we all deserve an indulgent treat.

You can enjoy a special Afternoon Tea for 2 at home, with a delicious menu that uses locally sourced quality ingredients. The savory selection includes British classics like cucumber sandwiches with Estate Dairy butter, Smoked Salmon and dill to the delectable fillings of Prosciutto, Rocket with shaved Parmesan and roasted red pepper, Emmental cheese topped with chopped walnuts all served on brown bread.  Sweet treats include indulgent caramel slices; moist coffee & walnut cake and not forgetting the all-important freshly baked scones with jam and Cornish clotted cream.

Tea is the classic accompaniment of choice and the box includes Chase English breakfast tea. However if you are a coffee lover like myself, then you are in for an additional treat as they have the perfect selection of sustainably sourced single origin coffee, ground to order to complement your afternoon tea fare.

Partaking in an Afternoon tea is traditionally a well-mannered, cultured affair so this is a perfect excuse to ditch the loungewear that has become your wardrobe staple during lockdown. Have fun, make a ceremony of it by dressing for the occasion, create a theme, add crockery and a tiered cake stand and if you want to be truly indulgent round off with some Prosecco (not included). Bone china tea sets are also optional.

Freshly prepared Afternoon tea boxes cost £30 and are available Thurs – Sun. Pre order via their website – www.thegentlemenbaristas.com
