The Greatest Snowman Review

Pedley street station is currently hosting The Greatest Snowman. We went to the opening night last week, where we received a warm welcome with an elegant glass of champagne, walking through a wardrobe to access our table on board the arctic express. We were lucky enough to be seated in the middle of the train, which proved to be a great place for the entertainment to follow.

The show was well structured with an interesting beginning middle and end. Visuals on the train’s windows gave an illusion of movement and at one point of the story, flying through the air. The designs reflected upon our table, really portrayed the immersive experience of Christmas which added to the joy of the evening.

The dinner which was perfectly executed by Masterchef the professionals finalist Louisa Ellis, added nicely to this festive experience. A caramelised cauliflower volute, with crispy onions and yeast flakes was a superb way to whet the pallet. Our starter combined with Varieties of Jerusalem artichoke, grilled globe artichoke and baby rocket proved to be very delicious.

Our table sat highly anticipating the main course. The main consisted of a 3 bird roast, chicken skin, Cavolo Nero, Parsnip purée, potato rosti and a citrus sauce. Once we saw the food, it looked almost too flawless to consume, the presentation was exquisite! Once we got past allowing ourselves to indulge, our table was the quietest it had been all night. I could not fault this dish at all.

With more entertainment concluding the enjoyable show so far, we had a poached pear, salted caramel ice cream, sugar Tuile and vanilla snow for dessert. The perfect sweet and heavenly finish to our meal.

Never neglected, there were ample drinks, food and entertainment onboard this arctic express experience. Definitely something I would want to attend again and would recommend to anyone wanting a fun experience to get them in the festive mood. It may only be November, but after experiencing this magnificent greatest snowman adventure, I am truly ready for Christmas!

Thank you for the “greatest snowmazing evening!”
