The Ivy Cafe in Marylebone Village Review

The Ivy Collection of restaurants, brasseries and cafes has branched to many locations in the UK. ONIN reviewed The Ivy Cafe in Marylebone Village which offers classics and modern British cuisine in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

For entrees we had the crispy duck salad comprised of spiced duck, watermelon and cashews. Pairing duck with watermelon was something I hadn’t thought of or tasted before , but the combination of soft and crisp works impressively well. The Gratinated Cheese and Basil Soufflé with pesto and toasted pine nuts was the right texture and flawlessly cooked.

My friend had the 21 day Himalayan salt wall dry-aged sirloin steak. It was well seasoned and the sear on the steak was perfect. I had the succulent fillet of beef. Both come alone on a plate, so you’ll need some accompaniments.

We had tender stem broccoli and fluffy but crunchy truffle and Parmesan fries. My friend loved the green herb dressing for her baby gem and pine nut salad which was perfectly balanced between creamy and acidic.

Portion sizes are good and you can easily leave it at two courses but how could we resist dessert?  The Crème brûlée was delicious with a great crunch. The Chocolate bombe both looks and tastes divine. It’s a chocolate dome which melts when hot salted caramel sauce is poured over the top and served with vanilla ice cream.

Open all day the Ivy Cafe Marylebone serves breakfast, brunch, cream teas, lunch, dinner and cocktails. With a a good sized menu there’s something for everyone’s tastebuds. There’s also something for most budgets with mains from £15.95 alongside the £30+ steaks.

The Ivy Cafe is located on Marylebone Lane with indoor and outdoor seating. Within an easy walk of Marylebone Station, it’s also located near iconic landmarks such as Regent’s Park. We enjoyed sitting outside in the sun and watching people as they explored the #Meetmeinmarylebonevillage event.

ONIN would definitely recommend The Ivy. I’m already daydreaming about the chocolate bombe!
