The People’s Revolt Review

If you’d told me a year ago that on a Monday night I’d be running around the Tower Of London at night time trying to dodge guards and help lead The People’s Revolt…. I would have thought you were crazy. Well maybe I’m crazy but this is how I spent Monday night the 13th of May 2017. Arriving with my fellow ‘revolter’ Aspiring Stone… That’s right we had code names. Mine was High Pitched Songs. This is a top secret mission which mirrors the events of the Peasants Revolt in 1381 led by revolutionary Wat Tyler. Originally a peaceful protest… it soon turned into a violent revolt over taxes, austerity and unstable leadership.

As the mission itself is top secret and I don’t want this post to contain too many spoilers, I won’t go into too much detail about everything involved. I will say the night was extremely fun and a fantastic way to learn about history in a fully immersive experience. Think costumes, fabulous actors and a story line which puts you front and centre. Our host Tangible Talons was absolutely fabulous in getting us all involved and staying in character the entire time.

Historic Royal Palaces and theatre company differencEngine have definitely created a truly unforgettable experience. I look forward to further collaborations in the future.  For more information about the event, please read our earlier post https://onin.london/the-peoples-revolt/ or visit www.hrp.org.uk/thepeoplesrevolt and to book tickets visit https://thepeoplesrevolt.eventbrite.com
