The Real Greek Hosts An Exclusive One Night Only Culinary Experience

On 5th February 2020 from 6.00pm, The Real Greek, the UK’s only group of authentic Greek restaurants, will host a multi-course Greek tasting journey, at the new flagship venue in Tower Bridge, London, celebrating the very best of Greek food and drink.

Flying in to collaborate for the exclusive one night only eventare Father Epiphanios, a celebrated Greek monk, chef, author and winemaker, alongside Greece’s leading chefs from the acclaimed Athenian restaurant, Cookoovaya.

Father Epiphanios is one of the best-known religious figures in Greece. Residing in a Byzantine tower on the rocky east coast of Athos, part of the famous monastic community of Mount Athos in northern Greece. A talented cook and an ambassador for local produce, his best-selling book, “The Cuisine of the Holy Mountain Athos” is internationally recognised, and he regularly makes food for enormous crowds on Greece’s religious holidays. An expert winemaker, with a thriving winery, Father Epiphanios produces a number of fine vintages from the vineyards situated on Mount Athos, that will be available at The Real Greek for this exclusive evening event.

Cookoovaya is a critically acclaimed, bustling restaurant in the heart of Athens. It was founded by a collective of multi-awarded, nationally renowned and highly influential chefs, who have been at the pinnacle of Greek cuisine for years – Manos Zournatzis, Periklis Koskinas, Spiros Liakos and Vagelis Liakos– who will all be present on the night.

Their rustic, homely cooking is a celebration of contemporary Greek dining, through an authentically traditional Greek lens, and their involvement in The Real Greek menu for this event promises to use Greek seasonal ingredients for authentically Aegean food, that has a generous sharing ethos at heart.

Priced at £50.00 per person, the ticketed tasting journey will offer customers the chance to enjoy an exclusive menu and Greek wine, sourced directly from the Holy Mountain that celebrates Greek cuisine.

The recently opened, two-storey, 120–cover riverfront restaurant is The Real Greek flagship, situated in one of the most famous locations in London, beside the city’s iconic Tower Bridge. With the Shard and the Tower of London within walking distance, the location is the meeting point of the capital’s unique blend of history and modernity, and symbolises The Real Greek’s commitment to modern dining, steeped in tradition.
