Thunderbird Fried Chicken Review

Thunderbird Fried Chicken is the one stop shop for all things fried chicken. With wings, strips, dips & burgers – they have everything you need to fix that chicken craving. These guys certainly know what they are doing, serving up some yummy chicken with is bound to knock your socks off. Their famous Chipuffalo  Wings won at London Wing Fest, voted as the best Buffalo Wings in London!

With empty bellies, we ventured on down to the Charring Cross venue to sample these and other goodies. The Thunderbird’s take on the classic buffalo wing is created with chipotle-buffalo sauce, a sprinkle of coriander, pickled celery and a blue cheese dip. They were Delicious, with a capital D!

The manager then suggested we try the Salted Caramel Chicken Wings. She described these as a love them or hate them dish, but as a favourite of hers. We were game and while my friend and I were divided. I liked them, she preferred the Chipuffolo Wings. The Salted Caramel Wings are covered in a sweet, salty, umami sauce with a hint of orange, sprinkled with toasted sesame and a little chipotle powder. They reminded me of orange chicken so if this is your go to Chinese Dish… it’s one for you.

For the burgers, we tried the Thunderbun and the Meltdown. The Thunderbun contains a juicy chicken breast, slathered in Awesome Sauce (like a smoked burger sauce), some crunchy lettuce, pickles and a squishy bun. Simple and classic.

The Meltdown is a juicy chicken breast oozing with molten miso-jalapeño cheese sauce, garlicky red pepper aioli, fresh lettuce, pickles in squishy bun.

We both devoured these burgers alongside the delicious Meltondown Tots and Chipuffalo Fries. Make sure you wash your meal down with the amazing Strawberry Cheesecake Milkshake and this one certainly does bring all the boys (and girls) to the yard!

You can find Thunderbird Fried Chicken at Earls Court, Charing Cross, Pergola Paddington, the o2, or get them delivered from Shoreditch & Battersea.
