Vroom vroom: Classic Cars take centre stage in Belgrave Square Garden

96 Club

On Sunday 25 June, London’s grandest and largest nineteenth century square ‘Belgrave Square Garden’ will open its elusive private gates to the public to launch the Belgravia Classic Car Pop-Up Show keenly sponsored by residential property specialist Chestertons. This outdoor event will showcase some of the finest motors throughout history and will be open to ticket holders from 11am until 5pm allowing children under 10 years to go in free.

Often referred to as Belgravia’s leafy and green centerpiece this 4.5-acre beautifully restored private garden often features temporary art installations and dates back to 1867. Guests will have the opportunity to explore 100 classic cars, including the Ferrari 250SWB, Rolls Royce P 1, McLaren 650, Jaguar E type, Bentley 4.5 Blower and the Lamborghini Murcielardo. Members of the famous classic car 96 Club, founded by Michael Scott, will exhibit many of the cars on show. They’ll also be live music and entertainment with food and drinks available.

The allure for classic cars continues to thrive today, with their undeniable character and feelings of nostalgia still fascinating motorists around the world. What distinguishes them is notably their distinctive style – the identifiable 50s Chevy Bel Air, for example, with its winged tail light design or the curved edges of the 57 Atlantic Bugatti. Director of Chestertons Anshul Raja says ‘Chestertons is delighted to sponsor the inaugural Belgravia Classic Car Show in Belgrave Square Garden. The quality, craftsmanship and heritage of the cars that are on display align well with the values that we live by and aspire to at Chestertons so it is not surprising that we jumped at the opportunity to support this event. We are looking forward to working with the garden committee, Grosvenor Britain & Ireland and the 96 Club to present a memorable day.’ Driver, drive on.
