LCC students create an installation of images and responses to artefacts from the Cuming Museum collection. The museum is currently closed following serious fire damage to its building in March 2013.

The London College of Communication (LCC) in collaboration with the Cuming Museum is organising the exhibition ’26 Objects: An A-Z of the Cuming Museum’ from 14 May until 21 May in the LCC Nursery Gallery. Accompanying the exhibition there are two events: a private view on 14 May from 6-9pm and a participatory community art installation on Friday 15 May from 12-4pm.

Students from BA (Hons) Design Management and Cultures and BA (Hons) Spatial Design have worked in collaboration with the Cuming Museum to select and document an A-Z of museum artefacts and to design an exhibition installation in response to the collection. This is a co-design project where students, tutors and museum staff work in partnership to generate, prioritise, action and evaluate ideas.

The exhibition designed and curated by participating students supports the development of sustainable partnerships, encourages community advocacy and develops transferable skills for employment and lifelong learning.
