Ella Di Rocco Review

My teenage years were filled with looking at the mirror, wishing that one day my acne would clear up and go away. Well that it did not…. and because my acne followed me into my mid twenties, by the time my face cleared up I was left with a lot of acne scars. So years after that I would look in the mirror and wish one day the scars would magically disappear. Unfortunately getting rid of scars aren’t that simple and no matter what oils or creams I used nothing seemed to work.

A few months ago, I came across Ella Di Rocco, where I experienced their soothing and relaxing wine bath treatment. You can read my review here. After my session I spoke to the owner Anna about my acne scar concerns, and asked if there were any treatments they offered that would help. Over the next three months I underwent treatment to reduce my acne scarring.

My beauty therapist was a lady called Paula, from the first visit I felt at ease with her, she has a very friendly and warm manner which made me feel comfortable. She talked me through the different methods that they would use to help improve the scars over the next three months.

My sessions would always start off with a cleanse using the Fabbrimarine glycogel Complex 40% gel. Once the gel is massaged into the skin, small glycolic acid molecules penetrate deep into the skin, giving my skin a deep cleanse.

On some days I had would have a ultrasonic peel spatial treatment. The device helps to exfoliate the skin by ultrasound vibration. Having 2 different exfoliation steps helps regenerate the deeper layers of the skin, thus helping with old acne scars. On some days I would have the Fabbrimarine Collagen Velum Mask, which releases freeze-dried active ingredients to the skin’s deepest layers. This helps in decreasing discolouration and leaving my skin with a glow.

On the days I didn’t have a ultrasonic peel spatial treatment,  I would have a oxygen facial. The air that come out from the machine is filled with hyaluronic acid that ensures protection from free radicals, improving the elasticity of the tissues and helping with wrinkles. Anyone who has had an oxygen facial, will know how strange it feels to have oxygen blasted onto your skin, but after a while you get use to it and whenever I would looked into the mirror after the treatment I would see how plumed and radiant my face looked.

The face cleanser used was the Fabbrimarine Balancing gel, the gel includes glycol acid. I purchased this at the salon and swapped out my Liz Earle face cleanser and within the first two weeks, my face looked brighter and I had less breakouts.

I like that every treatment was a little different from the last, based on how my skin was looking and reacting to the treatment. Within the first two weeks, I could notice the difference in my skin, it started to look brighter and more plumped. After three weeks I could see that the scars didn’t look so deep and by week four I was attending the salon, with no make-up. Admittedly I would wear sunglasses to and from the appointments, but this indeed was the first time in about twenty years where I would walk out of the house without make-up and that was down to how good the treatment was!

After three months, my face was brighter and I have very few break outs now, once in 6 weeks perhaps where as before the treatment, I would have a breakout every two weeks. My scars do not look as deep and my face looks more even in skin colour. The treatment didn’t get rid of the scars, but that’s because they are old scars, I was told at the beginning that it would be impossible to get rid of them completely, however they promised it would look less deep, and that promise, they have fulfilled. I feel more confident and I use less make-up nowadays. I am very pleased to have come across Ella Di Rocco.
