Temper Soho Review

I often find going out to eat in Soho a bit overwhelming as there are so many choices, so I was excited to try Temper’s Soho branch. Temper is an open-fire Steakhouse and BBQ restaurant, with branches in Soho and The City, serving fire-cooked steaks, smoked meats and handmade tacos.

At the centre of every restaurant is an open kitchen and custom fire pit, so I loved that from the time we arrived we could watch the chefs in action prepping the food whilst we had a cocktail from their extensive drinks menu.

We decided to share a few dishes between us and whilst I was tempted by all of the snacks and tacos, we ordered the Lamb Tacos and Cheeseburger Tacos. Both were juicy and packed full of flavour, and I think we made the right choice! Next time I’d also be tempted by the Goats Cheese Tacos and the Beef Nachos and Guacamole.

For mains, we opted to share the Lamb Carnitas (shredded lamb served on top of a flatbread) and a Picanha steak with Truffle Chips and Hispi Cabbage with beef-fat bearnaise. I was a little bit underwhelmed by the steak, but think it was because the carnitas and tacos were so good that I had extra high standards! The flavours in the meat were all really tasty and I loved both of the side dishes.

I’m not sure how we had space, but we were so tempted by the dessert menu that we shared the Deep Dish Brigadeiro Cookie which was served with a Fior di latte ice cream. I’m definitely going back for the Peanut Chocolate Tart too!

There was so much on the menu that I would’ve liked to try, so I’ll definitely be going back – Temper Soho is the perfect spot to have dinner with friends and my other half loved it too!
