All Aboard the Gain Train: Heathrow Express and PureGym Help Brits Get Holiday-Ready at 100mph
In news set to delight gym lovers, holidaymakers and anyone who’s ever considered lifting hand luggage a legitimate upper-body workout, Heathrow Express has teamed up with PureGym to launch the UK’s first ever “Training Train”.
Available from 1st April, the new service transforms the iconic 15-minute Heathrow Express journey from Paddington into a high-energy fitness experience, giving passengers the chance to stretch, squat and sweat their way to the terminal before they’ve even had time to misplace their passport.
Designed for holidaymakers who like their getaways with a side of glutes, the Training Train will see PureGym personal trainers take passengers on a whistle-stop workout packed with a set of travel-inspired exercises – all designed to get Brits in peak departure condition before take-off.
Among the moves on offer are everything from “overhead locker lifts” and “luggage lunges” to “duty-free curls”, “passport pocket squats” and “gate sprint drills”, for those who want to add a little Olympian flair to their pre-flight routine – all designed to get passengers holiday-ready before take-off.

The concept is designed to help passengers make every minute count, because why simply sit back and relax when you could be lunging your way to leisure and curling your way to check-in?
Mark Eastwood, Commercial Lead at Heathrow Express, said: “At Heathrow Express we know that travel can be surprisingly physical – whether it’s lifting bags, navigating busy terminals or making that final call dash to the gate.
By partnering with PureGym, we wanted to bring a bit of fun to the journey while helping passengers feel energised before their trip.”
James Gauduchon, Group Customer and Marketing Director at PureGym added: “Everything we do at PureGym is focused on helping people to feel good and what better time to squeeze in a workout and boost those endorphins than when you’re travelling to the airport! If a few shoulder presses help you lift your suitcase with ease, and lift your mood too, then that’s a win in our book.”
The new Training Train service complete with PureGym equipment will be available across all Heathrow Express services from 1st April.
