Big Game 9 – which takes place on 27th December, 2016 – is a festive fixture like none other, taking place at the home of English rugby, Twickenham Stadium. Big Game 9 will see Quins meet Gloucester; another big club with a proud history and passionate fan base. Gloucester provided the opposition at Big Game 8 last year, a fixture that was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the season as the teams played out a thrilling 39-39 draw. Fans can expect another pulsating game of end to end Aviva Premiership rugby.
Approaching its ninth year, attendance for Big Game averages over 70,000. The event is a great family day out and provides much more than just a rugby match.
Off-field entertainment in previous years has included stunning pyrotechnic displays, unique match ball deliveries and entertainment performances from Rudimental, Olly Murs, Lawson, Killer Queen, Pineapple Dance Group, The Rat Pack and X-Factor Winners Matt Cardle and Sam Bailey.
Each year, Harlequins partner with a charity to produce a one-off match shirt exclusively for the Big Game fixture. This year, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity are the official Big Game 9 shirt partner and will receive £5 of the retail price of every Big Game 9 replica shirt sold. Furthermore, £1 from all tickets sales and all fundraising proceeds from the day will also go to the Harlequins Foundation in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and other Harlequin Foundation community initiatives.
The price of tickets for Big Game 9 vary depending on seating; with adult tickets ranging from £21-£56, and junior (U16) tickets ranging from £11-£56. Big Game 9 tickets are now on sale, and can be purchased via the Harlequins website, here.
