Birthday blow dry: HARI’s launches decade-inspired hair styling for its 50th celebrations

HARI’s is marking its 50th anniversary with a limited-edition blow dry menu inspired by iconic hair trends from the 70s through to the 10s – think disco waves, big 80s curls and 90s supermodel volume.

Who doesn’t love a blow dry? For us, it’s what manicures are to Elle Woods (although we absolutely love those too…)

Now we are constantly being fed new hairstyles and trends via TikTok but sometimes we also want to take a trip down memory lane – and few things are guaranteed to spark nostalgia quite like a bouncy blow dry.

London salon group HARI’s is leaning fully into the beauty time capsule with a new decade-inspired styling menu created to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

So whether you want a Farrah Fawcett style feathering, Cindy Crawford volume, or glossy noughties bends, head to HARI’s to get your fix.

Launching for one week only from May 18, the “Birthday Blow Dry Edit” has been created in partnership with Sebastian Professional, and takes clients through five decades of iconic hair trends.

The line-up includes the 70s Studio Wave, featuring soft movement and disco-era glamour; the 80s Icon Curls, which brings unapologetic volume back into the room; and the 90s Supermodel Volume, inspired by the era of blow dried bombshell hair that dominated every red carpet and runway.

There’s also a 00s Lived In Wave for fans of undone texture and a softer 10s Modern Boho style focused on natural movement – should you be feeling a more modern finish than retro styling.

As you walk into any of the five HARI’s salons, you’ll be transported back to the various eras – with nostalgic playlists spanning the decades keeping you company as you get your hair done. The shampoo, conditioner and mask treatment create the perfect silkiness and shine.

Walk out with not only the most gorgeous (and long-lasting, we’re on day four and can still see definition) curls, but also a Sebastian Dark Oil Regenerative Styling Oil and OPI Nail Envy, worth more than £30.

So, consider this your sign to book your blow-dry – the only difficult part will be choosing your decade.

Birthday Blow Dry Edit starts from £47 and is available at all five HARI’s London salons May 18-24.

Participating salons: Notting Hill, Parsons Green, Northcote Road, South Kensington, Kings Road.
