Bongo’s Bingo Review
Usually when I think of bingo, I do not think I’m in for a crazy fun night out. I don’t think I’ll be dancing the night away and then kicking on into the early hours of the morning at the afterparty. With Bongo’s Bingo, expect just that. On the 14th of July 2017, when we attended we were even treated to a special performance from Artful Dodger.
The host is a DJ who gets you moving with all the right tunes. The entertainers were dressed in ridiculous attire who get the crowd pumped up and ready to play. TIP; make sure you pay attention to the rules correctly and record your numbers right or face the fact you will be pulled up, publicly shamed. This comes with a song and all.
Let the games begin! There are six games with three prizes up for grabs in each round. Which means plenty of opportunities to get your hands on at least one of them. Expect prizes from the crazy like giant fluffy unicorns to alcohol and cash cash. However, if you and another person call out BINGO you will be going up on stage and compete in a dance-off, with only one of you walking away as the ultimate winner.
Bongo’s Bingo was created in Liverpool and has just returned to the UK after a sold-out tour across Australia (the Sydney shows sold out in less than 5 mins). In Ibiza, their weekly residency continues, as do their series of sold-out shows in Dubai.
London’s Bongo’s Bingo is held at Clapham Grand which is located just minutes from the Clapham Junction Overground station. Inside you have the option of joining in the heart of it all with a table on the floor, or maybe you want to live it up a little and hire a private booth for the night. I’ve experienced this event both ways and I can say I honestly say I had the best night both times. It is an event that will leave you wanting to go back to more and more. If you’re not ready for the evening to come to an end once the games wrap up, then hang around for the after party, the tables are cleared and another DJ takes over the floor.
