BOOM Burger – Loud Jamaican flavours in London’s own corner of the Caribbean

As of tomorrow evening the acclaimed Portobello Road will proudly be the home of a new burger shack as Boom Burger opens its doors to the public.

Head Chef Josh spent his early life on the sandy shores of Montego Bay, raised on the vibrant Caribbean flavours conjured up by the family cook, Auntie Sharon, her barbecue continually sizzling with salt fish and jerk chicken.

Now, Josh is combining those explosive spice combinations with the highest quality, British-bred meat, as he cooks up a hurricane in his Boom Burger kitchen.

With that in mind, plantain fries are served alongside the standard potato variety, house mayo is pepped up with Scotch Bonnets, and the traditional chicken burger is replaced by a Jerk Burger, complete with papaya and mango sauce and fried plantain. A small bar will also be present, serving a selection of rum cocktails and drinks designed to match the Jamaican flavours.

This isn’t just a great new burger restaurant; it’s a little piece of Jamaica in the heart of London’s carnival district. So, why wait for three days in August to party when you can have something to sing and dance about all year round?
