Cafe Pacifico Review

Cafe Pacifico

Café Pacifico would have to be the most vibrant Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. As I looked around, it’s hard to picture this place once being a factory which stored bananas. This is a lively traditional Mexican Restaurant, UK’s first, owned by Francesco. He definitely picked the right place to start up his business, in the heart of Covent Garden. Don’t let that put you off, the prices here are very much affordable. I can see why it has been thriving for 34 years. We were there for Mexican Independence Day and the place was  pumping.

Straight away you receive a warm welcome from all staff, including Francesco himself. He gets amongst it all. A very down to earth guy who is passionate about what he does and takes pride in it. Continuing to look around, I see many people smiling, laughing and having a great night. There doesn’t appear to be anyone with a sullen look on their face. When food arrives, their eyes are open wide, with a look of awe on their face. When mine arrives, I do the exact same thing. It is set in an appealing way, drawing you in immediately. Then when you tuck in, Oh My… I have gone to food heaven. Prepare to be rolling away from this restaurant a very happy. Especially if you manage to squeeze in 3 courses like we did!

Tuna Tacos
I highly recommend trying their nachos. Seriously, the best nachos I have ever had! The crunch of the chips, the perfect amount of cheese. No soggy nachos here. The home-made salsa is full of fresh ingredients and flavour. The enchiladas went down just as nicely. Of course I couldn’t pass up the Churros with a chili chocolate dipping sauce for dessert…YUM!

Their award winning cocktail in 2017 Magherita Rumble is not to be missed. It goes down a treat… be careful how many you consume as it will hit you when you least expect it! As already mentioned Café Pacifico was celebrating Mexican Independence Day. The festivities came complete with the Mariachi band to give you an even more of an authentic feel. I have found a new haven in this place for sure! Make sure you make your appearance soon.
