Chaos Kart Review

First of all, I would like to open with…I won, overall.
As much as I enjoy watching others play video games, I’m useless at them, but clearly a boss at live action video games. Sounds a little like a contradiction. Difference is, these Karts aren’t like the ones you’ve experienced before, there’s no petrol for starters, or smelly helmets to wear as this is a virtual track and so it makes this experience collision free. Each Kart is programmed not to collide with others – I tried to ram other drivers off the track, but my Kart slowed down each time – I clearly couldn’t beat the Matrix!

The karting arena is entirely technology centred. You’re given an electric kart and the track is lit up by overhead projectors which map out a track. We raced in out of space and in the desert! The track is littered with goodies and weapons (virtually of course) which you’ll drive your kart over and collect to save and use on your opponents. Watch out for the double eggs yolks!

Chaos Karts is the brainchild of Tom Lionetti-Maguire, who also had a hand in the creation of The Crystal Maze Live.
We are so excited to be launching this brand-new attraction, and especially to be doing so this summer,” said Chaos Karts founder Tom Lionetti-Maguire. “Creating a real-life version of a video game has been an obsession for some time and we are delighted to have cracked it. Every time you play it, the adrenaline, the pure elation of it… it still surprises me every time. The gamification of experiences is a phenomenon that is here to stay, and this is the purest distillation of it… it’s a game and an experience, wrapped up in a whole load of silliness, with a sprinkling of nostalgia for good measure. Chaos Karts is game changer. All this and opening in time for a summer of fun that we so desperately deserve, is frankly a dream come true!
Chaos Karts can be found on Fleet Street Hill, near Brick Lane in East London, and will be available for everyone over the age of 13 and over the height of 153cm.
