Cosy Evenings And Winter Warmers At Plume Wine Bar

Winter is here and what’s more cosier than sitting in an cosy underground wine bar with the scent of delicious food and mulled wine? In our opinion nothing! 

Friday night saw my friend and I at Plume Wine Bar… where all the above was possible. The venue is a juxtaposition of colours and brightness upstairs and the cosy, candlelit and speakeasy vibes  downstairs. We loved it.

Foodwise we were treated to a sharing platter, oysters, tempura prawns, olives and a gorgeous caramelised onion and cheese toastie. Dessert wise, we opted for the brownie and it was delicious! Each dish was perfectly paired with a selection of sparkling, white and red wines. Our lovely hostess knows her stuff and her knowledge of the wine list was very impressive.

One of our dishes paired perfectly with a sparkling red… but with both of us not too sure about that, she was able to list a similar red which would work without skipping a beat.

We throughly enjoyed people watching while enjoying our food and drinks and it was a lovely crowd. From friends or loved ones catching up, to an after work party to a first date… the venue catered for every occasion. This will be now be my go suggestion for people looking for a cute date spot!

The mulled wine is hand crafted daily, using the secret Grays family recipe that has been passed down through generations and will be heated to the perfect temperature before being served to customers across London at Grays & Feather’s wine bars, Plume in Covent Garden and Finch in Brixton and a pop-up stall at the Southbank Winter Market.

What’s more, The Mulled Wine Tavern at Southbank Winter Market will be serving their mulledwine with the option to add London’s first ever Mince Pie Lid! The Mince Pie lid will be heated by and infused with the flavours of the mulled wine, making for the perfect festive treat, whilst also helping to keep the mulled wine warm until you take a sip. 

Prices start from £5.90 for a regular size mulled wine, with the option to add a Mince Pie Lid or a shot of Amaretto for £1.
