CREATIVE LONDON: Mikey Pearce

This week we caught up with Mikey Pearce, Co-Founder of Clean Kitchen Club

CAN YOU TELL OUR READERS WHO HAVEN’T YET VISITED CLEAN KITCHEN CLUB, A BIT MORE ABOUT IT?

I started Clean Kitchen Club with my co-founder Abe Day-Garman, who has been my best friend since I was kid. We were talking about how to revolutionise the plant-based scene in the UK. With everything that has been going on with Coronavirus, we noticed that everyone was ordering more food to their homes. Abe and I decided to launch a 100% plant-based burger delivery service that did not compromise on taste.

Clean Kitchen Club uses the most delicious ingredients in our menu and we’re committed to sustainability, which we believe, goes far past just the ingredients we use in the kitchen.

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE CONCEPT OF CLEAN KITCHEN?

We came up with the concept in lockdown as we both embarked on plant-based diets for health and fitness reasons. I personally used to eat a lot of red meat and decided to basically completely cut it out of my diet along with embarking on a new fitness regime. Since starting Clean Kitchen Club, I feel so much healthier and can’t wait to see how much further I can go personally and in terms of the business.

YOU RECENTLY OPENED YOUR THIRD BRANCH OF THE CLEAN KITCHEN CLUB IN CHELSEA; DOES THIS BRANCH DIFFER FROM YOUR OTHER TWO?

The Chelsea kitchen serves the same menu as our other sites, but we’re also using it as our test and development kitchen. We’re constantly testing new taste combinations, incredible ingredients and new menu items to add to the existing line-up. We’ve got some really exciting launches planned over the coming weeks and months – so watch this space!

DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING NEW IN THE PIPELINE?

We are super excited to announce that we’ll be opening another site in a few weeks at Box Park in Wembley. I’m a huge fan of Box Park and their business model, so to be working with them on this opening is an amazing opportunity.

BEST ADVICE YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN?

Never get too high with the highs and vice versa with the lows. Life is about balance and I’m learning this every day with the business.

WHAT WOULD YOUR PERFECT LAZY SUNDAY IN LONDON LOOK LIKE?

My perfect Sunday would be sat on the sofa doing a Harry Potter marathon and why not have a cheeky Clean Burger whilst watching those awesome films!
