Enjoy Extravagant Roasts At Hux

Last month I visited the gorgeous Hux, London’s stunning new Restaurant and Clandestine Music Lounge in Kengiston.

Upon arrival you’ll be greeted by zebras, flamingos penguins and even a giraffe!  You are told that all animals were not hunted and were instead received from Zoos after they died. It makes an awesome sight.

Adjacent to Kensington Gardens and offering an immersive experience of flavours and design, Hux’s menu was crafted by Head Chef Stephen Collins and invites diners to indulge in robust delights that pair tradition with a contemporary edge.

We were there to experience the new roast menu and couldn’t have been happier through the entire experience.

While perusing the menu, the chef sent over some amuse bouche to really get us in the mood. Little quinoa tapioca parcels, which were pretty tasty.

For starters my friend and I chose the Beef Tartare and Prawn Cocktail. Portion sizes were quite big so it was nice we could both share these. These were full of flavour and we’d definitely recommend these!

Now for the main event, my friend chose the roast lamb and I chose the roast beef. My friend was extremely pleased with her lamb as she commented that it was not often that lamb was offered on a roast menu. Beef is my go to at a Sunday roast and it did not disappoint. Both meats were tender, flavoursome and utter perfection. Menu wise, there’s a huge selection of roasts to choose from so vegans and vegetarians can also be catered for.

Each roast comes with a Yorkshire Pudding which was huge, and both fluffy and crunchy, sharing sides such as cauliflower and cheese, crispy potatoes, greens and carrots. The Cauliflower and cheese was definitely the standout side!

To end our meal, my friend chose the decadent chocolate mousse while I couldn’t resist the vanilla bean cream and shortbread with amaretti and poached pear. Basically a deconstructed cheesecake, it was light, airy and the a great way to end our time at Hux.

We would be amiss if we didn’t mention the extensive wine selection and hospitable nature of the staff. The wine we washed dinner with was lovely and staff were kind, friendly and made our dining experience even more elevated.

Hux is the new must visit location in Kensington. You won’t regret it!
