Bompas & Parr create a Future Forest at Westfield Shopping Centre
Last weekend Westfield Shopping Centre has unveiled two additional multi-sensory experiences this summer as part of its fantastical Future Forest installation by Bompas & Parr.
The sensory Fruit Cloud exhibition will be available at both centres. It started at the Westfield Stratford City on the 22nd of July. The walk-in mist experience will give visitors a real taste of the magical flavours of the forest, stimulate multiple senses, generate mouth-watering memories as well as enabling all-important social-sharing opportunities.
Visitors to the Fruit Cloud are invited to put on a raincoat before entering an enclosure filled with Bompas & Parr’s fogging technology; enhanced with apple, blackberry or peach fruity flavours. As well as gulping the edible fog, visitors will hear the sounds of an abstract forest soundscape that uses the latest cross-modal science to create a ‘tart’ sonic environment to balance the sweetness of the cloud.
Designed to inspire guests to consider the environment and the outdoors, the Forest Village exhibition offers a unique perspective on climate change and manipulation in keeping with the overall theme for the Future Forest experience. The exhibition will also showcase plants that create electricity, the magic of spider silk, and a historic tree circus alongside artefacts, artworks and anecdotes about forests and nature.
Guests are also invited to walk, tumble and jump on water on the Forest Zorb Lagoon This fun and adventurous activity will be available for visitors to enjoy with friends and family in between visiting Westfield’s retail, dining and entertainment offerings.

With fun activities aimed at all ages, the experience highlights the importance of the future of the forest and the role it will increasingly play in our lives. After visiting Future Forest, it’s hoped that city-dwellers will leave with a deeper understanding of the relevance of the natural world even amid the frenzy of the concrete jungle.
Londoners looking to escape the daily grind, gain mindfulness and get closer to nature are invited to visit the installation located within the Gallery and Chestnut Plaza at Westfield Stratford City 22nd of July – 3rd of August and The Atrium at Westfield London between 15th August – 28th August.
