Today, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE and Somerset House host a new workshop series as part of This Bright Landa new cultural celebration in the heart of the capital, championing the spirit and strength of community.

The Bombay Citron Pressé x Fashion Refresh Masterclass Series will feature on This Bright Land’s mainstage and invites festival goers to upcycle their garments and give them a refreshing new look using tools and techniques that will be taught by a cohort of contemporary artists including the likes of young Trans artist, Willow Killeen and Fashion Designer, Chloe Bains.

A joyful celebration of self-expression, the workshop will involve three customisation stations that give visitors the opportunity to explore new skills and learn new tools to turn worn textiles into beautifully refreshed statement pieces. The fabric painting station will encourage people to add splashes of vibrant colour, whilst the sustainable fabrics space will let visitors play with adding various textures and tones to their clothes. For those who are interested in trying something with a tech twist, there will also be an opportunity to create a personalised digital wardrobe and design a fashion avatar that reflects their own personal style.

Further to the hosted stations will be a machine press that will allow visitors to customise using bright and bold lemon patches that pay homage to the hero Mediterranean lemons within the premium gin brand’s latest launch – Bombay Citron Pressé. Whilst visitors are encouraged to bring along their own pre-loved items to upgrade, such as denim jackets, jeans, tote bags or even cushion cases, there will also be T-shirts available, which have been provided by UNIQLO.

The mainstage is positioned just a stone’s throw away from the two stunning Bombay Sapphire bars where visitors can sip on the newly launched Bombay Citron Pressé – a vibrant gin bursting with the taste of freshly squeezed lemons inspired by the Tom Collins cocktail. Those looking to enjoy a tipple to toast their new creations can get their hands on a host of classic and naturally refreshing cocktails, from the Ultimate Tom Collins, made over ice and complete with fresh, juicy lemon and a splash of soda water, to a classic Bombay Citron Pressé and tonic – or for those looking for the perfect ice-breaker there will be a cooling frozen Citron Pressé creation.

This Bright Land transforms Somerset House’s magnificent open-air courtyard into a welcoming wonderland, open to all, with joyful day-and-night programming featuring performances, music, dance, talks, workshops and more, platforming both established creatives and grassroots communities. Open now until 29th August.
