HAITI’S FAVOURITE RUM RHUM BARBANCOURT ARRIVES IN THE UK

Following a successful launch in Paris last year, the award-winning rum Rhum Barbancourt is set to make its highly anticipated arrival in the UK this October. Launching at The Whisky Exchange, Master of Malt and Vintage House for consumers and at Champers, Speciality and Drinks with Sasha for trade, the rum has been a staple in its home country of Haiti for over 160 years and is expected to make waves when it lands on UK shores next month.

Onin.London attended the UK Launch at Laki Kane and it was an absolute blast! We learnt all about how the rum was founded by Dupre Barbancourt in 1862 and since the  Rhum Barbancourt has remained in the Gardere family, evolving throughout each generation whilst still retaining its historic origins. Founded in the affectionately-named ‘Pearl of the Antilles’, the award-winning Haitian export is prepared to establish itself overseas as a key player in the international field.

A truly unique creation, Rhum Barbancourt’s striking quality is the result of intricate double distillation and refined ingredients. Crafted from homegrown Madame Mevs pure organic sugar cane juice which is transported directly to the distillery to preserve its freshness, the rum is then matured in aromatic oak casks imported directly from the Limousin region of France, making it the only rum on the island to be made this way. A modern, autonomous, and ecologically inclined estate, the distillery has been designed through the cogeneration process, and is entirely self-sufficient for water and electricity. Smooth, rich and distinct, Rhum Barbancourt captures the essence of Haitian culture in every bottle, with a mission to share this extraordinary taste for life with the world.
