Kettle Discoveries Review

Kettle is everyone’s favourite premium crisp brand and they are pleased to announce their Discoveries range. Inspired from places around the world, these four innovative flavours are all gluten free and combine real food ingredients with real pleasure. Which is Kettle’s philosophy on food.

Good Housekeeping Institute in Soho provided the perfect venue for Kettle to showcase these four new flavours, which are:

  • Salted Caramel & Double Cream: Inspired by the British seaside, this flavour combines the sweet and savoury flavours of the two ingredients. It is an acquired taste that I wasn’t personally a fan of. But hey were going fast on the night, so if you like salted caramel this may be the one for you.
  • New York Deli with Pastrami, Dill Pickle & Mustard: Based on the classic sandwich from the Big Apple. These potato chips taste exactly like a New York deli sandwich. Once again, I am personally not a fan, but if you enjoy a nice salted beef, with pickle and mustard flavour you will finish a bag of these in one sitting.
  • Gressingham Duck, Plum Sauce & Spring Onion: This Asian inspired seasoning combines the flavours of UK’s leading duck brand with a fruity plum sauce and fresh spring onion. I really enjoyed this one in the Discoveries range. I am a huge fan of Asian cuisine and this flavour provides a nice balance of flavours for the senses.
  • Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese & Cox Apple Chutney: Wensleydale cheese is an award winning full-flavoured crumbly cheese, perfectlycomplimented with the crisp flavour of apple chutney. This was my absolute favourite flavour of the night and makes the perfect addition to any picnic basket. I look forward to purchasing more of these over Spring and Summer to enjoy in the park. After already sharing 2 bags of these, everyone has enjoyed every bite.

Alongside showcasing the flavours of their Discoveries range, Kettle were kind enough to provide a unique installation to mix your own flavour combinations from 10 previously unreleased seasonings. After selecting your seasonings, a chef would mix them up with a fresh batch of Kettle chips, still warm to the touch. These flavours ranged from pulled pork, chargrilled chicken to pickle and blue cheese. I combined chargrilled chicken, caramelised onions and blue cheese which was delicious. I am sure some unique flavour combinations were discovered on the night and may be included in the next range of flavours to hit the supermarket shelves.

So, it’s time to purchase some Discoveries Kettle Chips to share with friends in a park or enjoy on the couch with your partner. Either method will be enjoyed by all.
