Martini and Meringues at Quaglino’s review

Rose Kiss, French Kiss, Classy Kiss, Cherry Kiss (6)

To celebrate spring, the gorgeous Quaglino’s has collaborated with the Meringue Girls to create an exclusive Martini & Meringue Pop-Up cocktail and dessert bar until the 30th of June. We attended the exclusive press launch on the 7th of June and got to sample some the delicious Martini Cocktails created by Head Bartender Davide Arruci. Made with Moët Chandon, Belvedere and Hennessy VSOP, each Martini was served alongside different the Meringue Girls mini meringue kisses.

We sampled the Cherry Kiss (a twist on the Aviation Gin) featuring Belvedere instead of gin, parfait d’amour liquor and crème de mure – served with Sour Cherry meringue kiss. Our favourite of the evening! Super sweet and easy to drink, the Cherry Kiss is absolute perfection.

French Kiss

Another favourite was the French Kiss featuring vodka, fresh raspberries, pineapple juice and crème de framboise served straight up – Served with raspberry meringue kiss. Sweet and frothy, this martini was just the drink for spring.

The Rose Kiss (a twist on the classic Mai Tai) featuring Hennessy, rose water, lychee juice, orgeat syrup and lemon juice – served with Pistachio & Rose meringue kiss is especially floral but if you like your drinks that way, then you’re definitely in for a treat.

The only martini we didn’t get to try was the Classy Kiss featuring a mix of Hennessy VSOP, bergamot liquor and grapefruit topped with Moët & Chandon champagne – served with Gin & Tonic meringue kiss. The Gin and Tonic Meringue sounds divine. I will definitely have to make my way back to Quaglinio’s before the end of June to sample this drink.

To complement our already sugar overload after the delicious martini’s we had consumed, Executive Pastry Chef Jack Smith created a sensory Dessert Menu that must be seen to be believed.

Deconstructed Lemon Meringue PieFrom deconstructed Lemon Meringue Pie, to a Strawberry & Rose Pavlova and Beehive Meringues served on a Honey & Thyme Tart we were in dessert heaven. The showstopper though is the Peach Melba. Cheesecake and Peach Melba which looks like an actual peach! It was so pretty, I almost didn’t want to eat it. Boy am I glad I did. White chocolate covers a cheesecake and Peach Melba filling with an added surprise of a raspberry centre. I won’t show you the inside of the cheesecake but it seriously even looks like a peach on the inside.

As part of the #Blossomcity17 campaign will once again support The Gynaecological Cancer Fund’s Lady Garden Campaign with £1 from each bill across the D&D group will be donated to the charity. So not only will you get to enjoy delicious martinis and desserts, you’ll also be supporting a good cause. Seems like the perfect excuse to indulge in sugary and alcoholic delights.
