MEATOPIA ANNOUNCES MUSIC LINE-UP

Friday 31st August – Sunday 2nd September

A weekend of meat, drink, fire and music, this August bank holiday see’s renowned festival Meatopia returning to Tobacco Dock, with a mouth-watering line up of awesome chefs and killer DJ’s to keep festival goers full and entertained.

In it’s sixth year, Meatopia is now so much more than just a meat fest. Boasting a fully curated menu of exquisite, one-off dishes, there is a full celebrity chef line up behind the name; Lennox Hastie of critically acclaimed Firedoor in Sydney, Athanasios “Tommy” Kargatzidis of Baron in Beirut, Joris Bijdendijk from Amsterdam’s famous Rijks, Aleksey Burov of Smoke BBQ in St Petersburg, Holy Smoke’s Johan Fritzell from Sweden and a very special cross-country collaboration from Uri Navon from Machneyuda in Jerusalem and Dan Yosha from Balagan in Paris, there is no shortness of stellar cooking talent to feed the masses. Aside from all this fantastic food to keep your belly bursting full, the event also features informal workshops, live chef demos from the Cutting Room stage and the return of Melissa Cole’s craft beer extravaganza, Craftopia.

Of course, meat is most definitely a focus (it’s all in the name, really) but the Meatopia team has chosen to up their game in 2018, by introducing an impressive list of DJs’ at this year’s event. The moustachioed mavericks The Cuban Brothers, Chicago’s acid house extraordinaire DJ Pierre and Loose Joints, the latest incarnation of Groove Armada’s Tom Findlay, will be taking to the decks to really get the party started. Think three days of killer beats to match your meats, with a Meatopia that promises to be bigger and better than ever.

SATURDAY: DJ Pierre, New York Brass Band, Indian Man, Johnny Cash Converters, Tropical Tea Party

SUNDAY: Tom Findlay (Groove Armada) presents ‘Loose Joints’, The Future Shape Of Sound, DJ Tofu, Shepdog, Gator Dog Snappers
